23 Things to Do in Las Vegas, USA [Bucket List]

Las Vegas has long been lauded for its limitless experiences catered to any travel agenda. As you already know it is something we like to do too, but for this guide I will present a cornucopia of other offers instead.

Are you in search of things to do, free attractions, some adrenaline inducing activities like helicopter rides or perhaps even quaint places to visit? This list has you covered!

Each time I go to Las Vegas there are great new places to see, and after having visited Las Vegas again, which is now up (hard to believe 2020 will be over in just a few months! Also with everything open on the strip this update dates well for my soon coming guide times), I can say it does very much make into that year. Join me in this journey to uncover some of these great options.

Top Things to Do in Las Vegas

1. The Las Vegas Strip

Experience the Las Vegas Strip This bustling boulevard is home to attractions such as the Bellagio Fountain and Mirage Volcano shows. The strip is perfect for sipping a drink through plastic container, glass is not allowed out side and people watching.

Keep in mind, this stripe stretches 4.2 miles and that is a LOT of distance… In summer, please note that you can walk through the casino lobbies for an air conditioned break and little peeks at all hotel interiors.

Pro-tip: the walk is totally free unless you buy stuff on a whim.

2. The Iconic Las Vegas Sign

It is impossible to epitomize the spirit of Las Vegas in a photograph better than the welcome sign for which it share’s its name – so star and member from seeing stars Hal Garrison had this photo taken there in 1959.

Located at the south end of the Las Vegas Strip near the airport, this famous sign is a great place to get a photo op and is accessible by car or ride-share with parking provided.

This is an open 24 hour location, which means the sign can attract crowds, but showing up early in the morning may lead to less people and no lines to wait in for that perfect picture.

3. A Visit To The Neon Museum Las Vegas

The Neon Museum, a non-profit that collects and preserves Las Vegas’ neon signs from as far back as 1930. Just off the Strip near downtown, this facility offers insight into Las Vegas’ brilliant history via a number of touring options such as self-guided tours and Brilliant! night show.

The coming darkness with the setting sun turns on most of the signs and they all have an inherent beauty to them, only enhanced as well by this change in daylight. The greatest light for the best pictures of the museum is generally at nightfall so that is a smart thought. Note: DSLR are not allowed.

Today: Open 2 pm – 10; seasonal hours

Cost $20 general, $16 for locals; guided tours are $28 or $24 for locals. Children up to six years of age do not pay for entry.

4. Riding the High Roller Observation Wheel

The High Roller, the tallest observation wheel in the world at 550 feet, takes a geologic age — about 30 minutes — to complete one rotation and offers panoramas down The Strip to faraway mountains.

Containing 28 clear pods with room for up to 40 guests in each, the wheel In addition to standard rides, a ‘Happy Half Hour’ experience is available for passengers age 21 and older and includes an open bar throughout the ride for groups of up to 10 adult guests. 5. Seven Magic Mountains in Discovery

If ever driving in from L.A., Seven Magic Mountains is a 30-minute drive south of the Las Vegas Strip, and it’s a colorful installation by Swiss artist Ugo Rondinone.

Some of the tallest towers in this installation are 30-plus-foot-high stacks of large boulders, each one painted a vivid hue dotting the desert landscape at Ivanpah Valley. Tourists can admire these colorful sculptures up – close and take iconic pictures.

Getting here: by Rental Car with available parking, or Uber $30 one way (it varies on the time and day).

Take traditional English tea on the 26th floor of this hotel, with panoramic views from the Tea Lounge floor to ceiling over The Strip (in addition to cucumber sandwiches you’ll get buffalo lollipops in bleu cheese fondue).

Caesars Forum Shops are one of the most popular shopping arcades in town with more than 160 stores & restaurants.

The Grande Canal Shops walk through a mall that is designed like Venice; over 160 stores and high-end brands.
